2025 Rugby Africa Cup | Sunday
- Uganda Vs Morocco – Namboole Stadium | 12 PM
The Rugby Cranes return to action this Sunday at Namboole Stadium, looking to salvage pride in the 2025 Rugby Africa Cup with a fifth-place finish on the line.
After falling 32–24 to rivals Kenya in last weekend’s quarterfinal, Uganda’s World Cup dream ended.
But with Morocco up next in a 12 PM placement semifinal, the focus now shifts to finishing strong at home.
The Cranes’ preparation has been hit by injuries. Prop Blair Ayebazibwe (hamstring) and center Isaac Massanganzira (shoulder) are out for the rest of the tournament.
Head coach Fred Mudoola has turned to reserves, Emmanuel Kiyaga comes in on the wing, while Yasin Wasswa fills the midfield gap.
Still, morale is high. The squad wrapped up final preparations with a focused captain’s run at Kyadondo Rugby Club on Saturday.
Earlier on Sunday, Senegal face Ivory Coast at 10 AM in the other 5th–8th placement tie. The main semifinals follow in the afternoon Algeria Vs Namibia at 2 PM, and Zimbabwe Vs Kenya at 4 PM.
For Uganda, a win would move them into the fifth-place playoff and offer home fans something to cheer in an otherwise tough campaign.
