The Uganda Para-Badminton championship that started on 1st July at Lugogo Indoor Stadium is set to climax today, Sunday 7th July.

Seven matches will be played in the finals with the hosts having Sarah Nazziwa in the Women’s Singles Wheelchair 1.

The 2023 silver medalist will face Brazil’s Juscileia de Carvalha Silva at this year’s finals.

To reach the finals, Nazziwa defeated India’s Anusha Chidananda ( 17-21, 21-11, 21-15) while Juscileia de Carvalha Silva defeated Uganda’s Flavia Basuuta ( 21-6,21-3).

Uganda so far has four bronze medals from Ali Mukasa, Flavia Basuuta, Sumin Mutesi, Ali Mukasa and Brian Mugabe’s double.

The match that Nazziwa is set to play will determine if Uganda get a gold medal but so far she has a silver for her country.
