SC Villa is set for a crucial Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Sunday, March 1, a gathering club spokesperson Asan Kasingye says will shape the future of one of Uganda’s most storied football institutions.
Speaking at a press briefing at the Mandela Group of companies headquarters – Sixth Street, Kampala, Kasingye said the meeting, to be held in Kulambiro-Ntinda, will feature a four year accountability report from the current administration.
“We are presenting what has been accomplished under the current leadership,” he noted.
The AGM will also host presidential elections. Incumbent Omar Ahmed Mandela, back in charge since November 2021 after a long absence, will seek re-election against Farouk Meywa, who has declared his candidacy.
“All registered members interested in leadership positions can pick up nomination forms at the meeting,” Kasingye added.
A key agenda item is the Shs3.2 billion compensation from the Uganda National Roads Authority for the sale of former Villa Park.
Trustees chairman Gerald Ssendula said the funds, invested as a fixed deposit, have grown to Shs4.5 billion, with plans to acquire new land, potentially along Entebbe Road after the elections.

The AGM will also review SC Villa’s sporting record. The club remains a top Uganda Premier League contender, currently third, just four points behind leaders Vipers SC, and has reached the Uganda Cup round of 16.
Coinciding with SC Villa’s 50th anniversary, the AGM will see the launch of its inaugural Souvenir Magazine, celebrating 17 league titles and nine Uganda Cup trophies, and chronicling the club’s rich history.
