Record champions SC Villa and BUL will face off on Tuesday in a crucial Uganda Premier League match at Wankulukuku Stadium at 4pm.

Villa will be looking to close the gap on league leaders BUL, while BUL will be hoping to extend their winning streak.

Villa lost to BUL in the semifinals of the FUFA Super 8 during pre-season, so they will be eager to get revenge.

Midfielder Ivan Sserubiri believes that Villa are in good form and ready to win.

“We have prepared well despite the fact we are playing a good side that has collected 12 points from their four games,” Sserubiri said.

“Hopefully we shall collect maximum points. We call upon the fans to turn up and cheer the team.”

Last season, Villa won the first leg against BUL 1-0, but BUL avenged the defeat in the return leg.

Villa will be looking to Umar Lutalo, Arnold Odong, and Elvis Ngonde for inspiration, while BUL will be hoping that forwards Alex Kitata and Samuel Ssekamatte can deliver.

Ssekamatte promised that BUL will be determined to maintain their winning streak.

“We beat SC Villa in the FUFA Super 8 but we are backing ourselves (again) and there is a lot at stake,” Ssekamatte said.

“The players are in good condition to deliver since that’s what we are looking for. We have what it takes to take maximum points.”
