SC Villa coach Dusan Stojanovic is not about to lose hope from his players despite going two consecutive games without a win.
Stojanovic was speaking after Villa settled for 1-1 draw with Maroons FC away at Luzira, in their second game of the Startimes Uganda Premier league campaign.
“We did not perform badly since we also had chances we failed to convert. There is progress in the team and I believe going forward we shall try to win games. We need to keep trying and we shall be there,” noted Stojanovic.
Villa lost 2-1 to Kitara FC in their opening game and Stojanovic feels the two games have given them a better dimension of how they will encounter the other games to come.
Maroons took the lead through Fred Amaku in the 60th minute off a Darius Ojok cross but Villa bounced back five minutes later with defender Arnold Odong leveling matters for his first goal for the Jogoos.
The Prisons side should have won the game late but defender Jacob Okao failed to capitalize on one on situation with goalkeeper Norman Angufindru.
For Maroons who beat Wakiso Giants 3-0 in their opening game, they now have four points and their assistant coach Simon Peter Ojok believes they will return to winning ways in their next match.
“We shall try to rectify our mistakes and bounce back. We should have won since we were at home and prepared the game well. We believe we shall be better side against KCCA in our next game,” noted Ojok.
