SC Villa will host fellow Uganda Premier League side Maroons FC in one of the standout ties of the Round of 16 in the 52nd edition of the Plascon co-sponsored Uganda Cup.
The draw was conducted on Thursday morning at FUFA House, with the matches scheduled to be played between March 16 and 20.
Villa return to the competition with confidence after eliminating 2022 champions BUL FC in the previous round.
Their reward is another top-flight test against a disciplined Maroons side as both teams chase a place in the quarterfinals.
Defending champions Vipers SC will face FUFA Big League side Iganga United at St Mary’s Stadium.
Ten-time winners KCCA FC have been drawn against Onduparaka FC, who knocked out non-league side Football Classroom in the previous round.
Former champions Kitara FC will host Bunyaruguru United at Royals Park, while URA FC, coached by Hussein Mbalangu, will face North-East regional side Tapoh FC at Hamz Stadium.
Elsewhere, Happy Boyz Kagaba will take on Six O’Clock FC in a clash of regional league sides.
NEC FC will face either Lugazi FC or Police FC depending on the outcome of a petition filed by Police.
The club claims Lugazi fielded Umar Kyabatala, who had already played in the competition for non-league side Football Classroom.
Last year, Vipers SC won the trophy after beating KCCA FC at FUFA Kadiba Stadium. Goals from Yunus Sentamu and Livingstone Mulondo secured the victory.
The winner of the competition will represent Uganda in the CAF Confederation Cup.
