With SC Villa set to start playing in the new league format they disagree with, the team’s leadership has met with fans to clarify the league issue.
In the meeting, chaired by SC Villa fans chairman Hassan Kasule, the team’s governing body was represented by Vice President of Mobilization Hajj Salim Ssemanda, accompanied by team Chief Executive Officer William Nkemba.
In his briefing to the fans, Nkemba stated that, “It is a good opportunity to meet my fellow Villa fans. I inform you that our bosses have decided to play in the new league, not because they agree with it, but because the game has to go on. ”
“We have to admit that the more we oppose the new league scheme, our FUFA bosses have made amendments, although each time the problems of the scheme become more apparent.” He added
“Sadly, our fellow team leaders decide to accept without consideration. We believe time will tell and we will see our points and why we are opposing the new league format.”
Concluding that; “On that note, I also inform you that tomorrow we will play KCCA FC at Namboole in a double header, and they are urging you to come and support Villa.”
SC Villa will visit KCCA FC tomorrow, October 4, at 8:00 p.m. in the first double-header games of the season.
Meanwhile, Hajji Salim Ssemanda highlighted Nkemba’s words and further urged Villa fans to maintain discipline and stop insulting people, including FUFA President Engineer Moses Magogo.
SC Villa is one of three teams that disagree with the new league format, but Villa accepted to play despite their dissatisfaction.
Yesterday, NEC FC, who also disagree with the new league format, played a 1-1 draw against URA FC, while the third team, Vipers SC, remains the only team refusing to play in the new league format.
As of now, with just hours to their double-header game against Kitara FC at Namboole on Saturday, October 4, Vipers SC is remaining constant in its refusal of the new league format.
