Record Ugandan champions SC Villa have appointed Serbian coach Milincic Nemanja as their new head coach, marking the start of a bold new era for the 16-time league winners.

The club announced the news on Thursday, with Villa hopeful that Milincic’s experience and fresh ideas can restore their place at the top of Ugandan and African football.

Milincic, who recently served as assistant coach for the Bulgarian national team, holds a UEFA Pro License along with UEFA A, B, and C certifications.

With over a decade of coaching across top European sides, he’s known for his attacking style, disciplined defense, and focus on youth development qualities Villa believe can drive their resurgence.

“We’re excited to welcome Milincic to the SC Villa family,” said club president Hajji Omar Ahmed Mandela.

“His vision and experience align with our ambition. He’s the right man to lead us forward.”

Speaking at his unveiling, Milincic acknowledged the club’s proud legacy and the pressure that comes with it.

“It’s an honour to coach a club with such history and passionate fans,” he said.

“Expectations are high and that motivates me. I’m here to build a team that competes for every title.”

His first task will be leading pre-season preparations, assessing the squad, and working with new signings.
