The 2023/24 StarTimes Uganda Premier League (UPL) second-round action kicks off this evening with one game on the menu .
Record champions SC Villa will entertain Maroons FC in a highly anticipated clash at Mutesa II Wankulukuku stadium at 4:00PM.
In the first round, the two sides settled for a 1-1 draw, and they will both be eager to secure maximum points to move up the table.
The hosts are currently fifth on the table with 26 points, two behind the Prisons Warders who are occupying the fourth position.
On a low one, Villa will miss three key players; Ronald Ssekiganda and captain Kenneth Ssemakula through suspension, while goalkeeper Norman Angufindru who kept seven clean sheets in the first round sits out with a toe injury.
However, this setback is a blessing in disguise for new signing Reagan Mpande, a striker who joined from Arua Hill as Ssekiganda’s replacement who is in line to make his debut.
For Maroons, Coach Muhammad Ssenfuma has a full squad to choose from with forwards Solomon Walusimbi, Fred Amaku, Darius Ojok, and former Villa captain Abel Eturude all ready to serve.
