With her brilliant display at the just concluded Netball World Cup, She Cranes shooter-cum-defender Haniisha Muhammed has landed a move to England.
The former KCCA Netball team player will be part of Surrey Storm‘s squad in the forthcoming top-flight campaign and is raring to go.
“I am super excited to join Surrey Storm. It’s a fantastic opportunity for me to play at a very high level and I’m looking forward to working extremely hard on and off the court!”
Muhameed was a part of the She Cranes squad which took part and finished fifth in the 2023 Netball World Cup in South Africa.
Her game has been getting better with time thanks to national team call ups as she featured in last year’s Commonwealth Games in Birmingham and Fast 5.
“We are delighted to announce the signing of a tenacious Ugandan She Crane, who showed her prowess at the Netball World Cup this summer,” Storm head coach Mikki Austin noted.
“Haniisha will bring a dogged tenacity and ball-winning ability to our defensive end which we look forward to working with and integrating into the Netball Superleague here in the UK.”
Haniisha joins a growing list of Ugandans who left Uganda to go and play professional Netball through the right channels.
She Cranes captain Peace Proscovia leads the pack which also has towering Mary Nuba, and Stella Oyella.
