The Commissioner General of Uganda Prisons, Dr. Can. J.O.R Byabashaija, hosted a special meeting with the Maroons female football team, She Maroons FC, at Uganda Prisons Headquarters, Kampala.
The meeting was held to congratulate the team on their triumphant return to the FUFA Women’s Super League, and their impressive finish in the 6th position in their first campaign at the top tier.
Dr. Byabashaija, who also doubles as the patron of Maroons Football Clubs, commended the team for carrying the Uganda Prisons Service flag high and making the service proud.
He encouraged the players to maintain discipline and association with Uganda Prisons even after they retire from active football, noting that there is always a place for sportsmen in the service provided they keep a good record.
Byabasaija also thanked the technical team led by Head Coach Simon Peter Ochuka for their resilience and commitment amidst all challenges. He guaranteed support for the team to enhance their league competitiveness in future.
The meeting was attended by the players, technical staff, and top leadership of Uganda Prisons Service.
She Maroons has been making waves in the league, and their successful season has been hailed as a testament to the team’s hard work and consistency.
With the support of the Uganda Prisons, the ladies are expected to continue making strides in Uganda women’s football.
