The Ugandan Crested Cranes are set to take on Morocco in an international friendly tonight at 9:00 PM (EAT) at Le Mardi Stadium.

This marks the first game for newly appointed head coach Sheryl Botes, who expressed optimism despite acknowledging the challenge ahead.

Following a successful training session yesterday at the Moulay Rachid Centre grounds in Rabat, the Crested Cranes welcomed back foreign players Nabirye Joan, Nabbumba Phiona, Nambi Violah, and Najjemba Fauzia for the match.

Speaking to the media, Botes emphasized the team’s progress in adapting to her tactical approach despite limited training time.

“We have had few days of training but I’m glad that the ladies are responding and improving on our tactical play,” she said.

“Morocco is a very big team and I expect a tough game against a team which have been in the World Cup and other big tournaments, but if my players play to the game plan, I expect positive results.”

The Crested Cranes will play Morocco again on Tuesday, December 5th, at Stade Moulay El Hassan in Rabat for their second friendly encounter.
