The 2025 Boys’ Schools Cricket Week bowls off this Sunday, August 23, in Fort Portal City, marking the first time the event leaves Jinja after three straight years.
The week-long tournament runs until August 31, with 18 schools from six regions battling for glory.
Defending champions Jinja SS are chasing a historic third consecutive title and fourth overall, but they face tough competition from record winners Busoga College Mwiri and hosts Nyakasura School, who will enjoy strong home support.
Organized by the Uganda Cricket Association, the annual championship also serves as a talent-hunting platform, with standout players earning spots in a high-performance camp to groom future national stars.
Matches will take place across six venues, two each at Nyakasura School, Canon Apollo Grounds, and St. Leo’s Kyegobe turning Fort Portal into the heartbeat of schools cricket for the next week.
