St. Lawrence University reaffirmed its dominance in inter-university beach soccer by securing their fourth championship title on Sunday, February 9th, 2025, at Bomboo Resort in Kasanje, Wakiso.
In a thrilling final, St. Lawrence edged past defending champions MUBS 2-1, thanks to a brace from Mubiru Patrick, sealing their latest triumph after victories in 2018, 2022, and 2023. Mbabazi Joe netted the lone goal for MUBS.
Before the final, St. Lawrence University outclassed Kampala International University (KIU) 3-0 in the semifinals, while MUBS overcame Buganda Royal 5-3 in a high-scoring encounter.
In the third-place playoff, Buganda Royal University secured bronze medals after a narrow 1-0 victory over KIU.
The 2025 Inter-University Beach Soccer Championship attracted seven participating universities, including St. Lawrence, Kampala University, KIU, Buganda Royal Institute, Muteesa I Royal University, and Cavendish University.
Since its inception in 2011, the tournament has evolved into a premier event for university beach soccer, promoting both competition and player development.
