SMACK League matchday 17 will be remembered as one of the most flamboyant outings of the weekend school leagues in the country.
Hosted by class of 2001 to 2006, the Mighty Zimbaz, the blankets and wines setup on a chilly Sunday had a full buffet on and off the green.
On the pitch, Zulus climbed to the top of the log following a 3-1 victory against Gladiators to hand them a one point lead with two match days to go.
In second are the Block Owners who could only draw 2-2 with Vendors hence picking up just one point to take their tally to 36 points.
While all this action was unfolding, the other Old Boys of St. Mary’s College Kisubi, their friends and well-wishers were warming up for an after party.
With diva Naava Grey and the legendary Afrigo Band already on the posters, the turn up was big but with no idea of who the surprise act would be.
The hosts pulled off a shocker with a duo of sensational reggae singer Maddox Sematimba and King Saha.
To have all the above mentioned talent whose individual performances speak volumes on one stage and at no cover charges was the killer punch.
With fireworks in the air as well, we just can’t imagine what SMACK League has in plan for the grand finale.
