Soroti City Cricket Club put on a dominant show at the Entebbe Cricket Oval on Saturday, sweeping Tornado Bees in a Women’s T20 League Group A double-header with convincing wins by 34 runs and 8 wickets.

Morning Match: Alako, Bowlers lead the charge

  • Tornado Bees 79/7 in 20 Overs (Ann Nyapendi 22, Sandra Achawo 13)
  • Soroti City CC won by 34 runs

Batting first, Soroti posted 113/5, led by Proscovia Alako’s unbeaten 41 off 42 balls and Jimia Abdallah’s 31. Extras contributed a helpful 20 runs.

Tornado Bees never found their footing in response. Kevin Amuge, Tino Sarah, and Patricia Apolot each picked two wickets as the Bees stumbled to 79/7.

Afternoon Match: Total domination

  • Soroti City CC 31/2 in 4.2 Overs (Kevin Amuge 4/5, Janet Mbabazi 6)
  • Soroti City CC won by 8 wickets

Tornado Bees collapsed for just 29 runs in 15.3 overs, the lowest score of the day. Amuge was outstanding again, taking 4/5 in 4 overs, with support from Anayo Christine and Apolot Patricia.

Soroti needed just 4.2 overs to seal the chase, losing two wickets before Racheal Achan (5) and Alako (4) saw them home.

Elsewhere: Jinja SS dominates Mt. St Henry’s

In Group B, Jinja SS enjoyed their own sweep, beating Mt St Henry’s by 19 runs in the morning and hammering them by 77 runs in the afternoon.
