Sport-S Volleyball club almost won everything after bagging three titles, including Meen’s Serie A for the seventh time in club history.
After the astounding triumphs, Uganda Volleyball Federation president Sadiq Nasiwu praised their performances, basing them on organisation.
After rewarding them their glory, President said; “As Uganda Volleyball Federation, we are glad to come to an end of our season, I congratulate our winner Sport-S Volleyball club who emerged both topflight titles of Men and Women, I believe they organised themselves the most compared to other teams in our leagues.”
Sport-S won Serie A Men’s and Serie A Women to add them to Men’s Serie B, completing the season on a high note.
In the playoffs finals, Sport-S defeated Nemostars Volleyball Club over two rounds, winning 3-1 and 3-0, with both games played at Old Kampala Sports Arena.
On Sunday 25th May 202, Sport-S commandingly overpowered Nemostars, beating them by winning straight sets 25-20, 25-19 and 28-26 to bag their seventh league in 20 years of club history.
After defending the league for the third consecutive time after breaking a 14-year league drought in 2023, to retain the league in 2024 and this year.
Sport-S Volleyball Club’s Yusuf Mukiibi associated the league and other triumphs to discipline, togetherness and corrective responsibility.
“I am proud that we have won our seventh league title in the Men’s league. This win came as a result of correct discipline in our players, working together as a club with all the players on our respective teams.”
Meanwhile, Sport-S Volleyball Club head Coach Warren Muhangi ranked his team as the most complete team.
“We have worked with a team in a good mood, we are a very organized club, that’s why we are beating our opponents, and we have a complete team, we don’t lack any players, and every player that comes on delivers. With this win, I can’t ask for more.”
Following the conclusion of the Volleyball season, the President wished all clubs to go through a successful rebuild.
“For the clubs that have not won this year, they must accept that this year Sport-S has bettered them but next season is coming soon, I wish them a successful rebuild which can guide them to win next season.”
The volleyball transfer will open soon, and the Federation shall hold its annual general meeting later before resuming for next season.
