Uganda’s rising table tennis stars, Joseph Ssebatindira and Patience Anyango, are en route to Sheffield, England, for the ITTF World Hopes Week and Challenge, running from October 13 to 19, 2025.

Accompanied by coaches Alvin Katumba and Tendo Balyewunya, the duo will represent Uganda at the English Institute of Sport, joining 40 of the world’s most promising Under-12 players and their coaches.

The week-long program features intensive training, skill development and competitive play.

The event culminates in a high stakes showdown over the final two days.

Ssebatindira and Anyango earned their spots with standout performances at the Africa Hopes Week and Challenge in Nigeria in July, where both claimed gold medals.
