Newly appointed Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Football Club Head Coach Brian Ssenyondo assured of restoring the club as he starts practical sessions.
Ssenyondo is a Co-Coach with Jackson Magera, who was in charge at the end of the season following the parting ways with Abdullah Mubiru.
The two are tasked to end KCCA FC’s struggling days, which trace two to three seasons back, with different coaches coming and going.
“The hard work starts now. We have a legacy to uphold, and with your sacrifice, hard work, and dedication, we will restore KCCA to its rightful place. We will do this together,” Ssenyondo said.
Over a month since their appointment, KCCA FC has been going through squad reshaping; players like Mustapha Mujuzi, Isa Mubiru, Steven Munguchi, and Etienne Katenga have all left the club.
Boosting the squad, KCCA FC has secured the services of Defender Harbert Achayi, Lazaro Bwambale, and Striker Ivan Ahimbisibwe as the major signings, but all of them are still on the Uganda Cranes CHAN team.
In addition, players like long-serving filbert Obenchan, João Gabriel Esteves Cardoso, and Umar Lutalo who joined Six months ago, they renewed their stay with the club.
Following the process, on 28th July, the team took the first training session under the dual coachship as the 2025-2026 season stepping closer.
With the new atmosphere gracing, a bunch of 8 players was not available at the beginning of the new era as they were on a much more important mission with the National team.
The KCCA FC players on the National team are the three new signings plus Joel Sserunjogi, Shafik Kwikiriza, Usama Arafat, Emmanuel Anyama, and Gavin Kizito.
The new season is poised to start in mid-September, with the Startimes Uganda Premier League taking the first steps, and other competitions like the Stanbic Uganda Cup shall follow.
