St. Lawrence and Nkumba University have triumphantly secured their spots in the quarterfinals of the highly anticipated University Football League. These victories mark a significant milestone in their respective seasons.
St. Lawrence delivered a resounding 7-0 drubbing to International University of East Africa (IUEA) at their home turf in Kavule, Mpigi. Meanwhile, Nkumba University demonstrated their resilience with a crucial away win against Gulu.
St. Lawrence’s dominant performance propelled them to the top of Group E with an impressive 15 points, while Nkumba’s hard-fought victory earned them second place with 13 points.
Despite a valiant 2-0 victory over MUBS in Mbale, Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) narrowly missed out on a quarterfinals berth.
Their second-place finish in Group B with 12 points fell one point short of table leaders MUBS.
St. Lawrence and Nkumba University join Kampala University, Makerere University, Uganda Christian University, and MUBS as the teams vying for the coveted championship title.
