St. Mary’s College Kisubi Defeat King’s College Budo To Storm FUFA TV Cup Semifinals

St. Matry’s College Kisubi became the first team to reach the semifinals of the ongoing FUFA TV Cup without conceding a goal.

The hosts scored in the first fifteen minutes of the game through Jimmy Ambayo who received a beautiful ball from Joram Nyanzi and he calmly controlled it inside the box and smartly struck to put his side in the lead.

Dominant St.Mary’s College Kisubi failed to add more goals as they wasted two chances.

Before the end of the first stanza of the game, King’s College Buddo’s forward Jimmy Lagony dribbled past two defenders but his cross that beat the goalkeeper found no one to tap in and equalize.

The visitors tried to find the equalizer, but the hosts managed to hold on to complete a double on a 3-0 aggregate to storm the semifinals.

The win meant that St. Mary’s College Kisubi, Mengo Senior School and Kiira College Butiki are the only teams to win their two games.

St. Mary’s College Kisubi completed the semifinal puzzle as they joined Kiira College Butiki, Jinja College School and Mengo Senior School.

The semifinals will also be played on a home and away basis, the first leg will be played on 21st June and the return leg will come on 25th June.

The finals of the inaugural FUFA TV Cup are to be played on 1st July 2023.
