St Mary’s Kitende and Kibuli SS Draw 1-1 in Early Group Stage Clash

The biggest derby in Ugandan schoolboy football, the clash between St Mary’s Kitende and Kibuli SS, ended in a 1-1 draw at the Kamena stadium in the 2023 FEASSA Games.

Reagan Sembusi gave Kibuli the lead in the 8th minute with a deflected shot, but St Mary’s responded instantly through Fazil Tumwine, who scored with a left-footed shot into the roof of the net past goalkeeper Noah Apangu.

Both teams continued to look for the would be a winning goal but, they defended well from either side to share the spoils at the final whistle.

One-all the game ended as Kitende got top of group B with 4 points.

This was Kibuli S.S’ first game in the competition as they secured their first point.
