With a view of availing swimmers with more competitive hours locally, Uganda Swimming Federation (USF) has added another event on their running year order.
Calendar year 2023 will witness the birth of a national league, the first of its kind in the Ugandan swimming history with athletes fighting for points.
“We have agreed to have a league in place. It will be on three different occasions and the events are drawn out,” USF president Moses Mwase told Nnalubaale Sports.
This development was passed during the USF executive and members engagement meeting held at Uganda Olympic Committee offices in Lugogo yesterday.
Also on the agenda, those in attendance reviewed 2022 which was a mix of success stories and challenges.
Lastly, the congregation agreed on the urgent need for capacity building of coaches, technical officials and volunteers.
