World Cup bound Cricket Cranes touched down safely in Port of Spain on Thursday night after 48 hours of travel and has comfortably settled into Trinidad & Tobago.
A gym recovery session was held at the team’s residence, the Hilton Hotel, on Friday mid-morning. This was followed by a 4-km run at Queen’s Park Savannah in the evening.
The Cricket Cranes had their first official training session at the historic Queen’s Park Oval, built in 1896, on Saturday morning, engaging in an intense three-hour workout session.
Today (Sunday 26th of May), the team will embark on an hour’s drive to the Brian Lara Cricket Academy, a multi-purpose stadium in Tarouba, San Fernando.
They will have a training session under the floodlights to acclimatize further ahead of their warm-up fixtures against Namibia and Scotland during the coming week.
With all their Group C games being night fixtures against; Papua New Guinea, New Zealand, Afghanistan, and West Indies, this experience under lights will come in handy.
Cranes will play three games in Guyana and the final group game against New Zealand in Trinidad and Tobago.
