Too many, the beautiful singing of the Uganda national anthem at the 2024 T20 Cricket World Cup was a dream come true.

The historical moment left many in tears before Uganda faced Afghanistan in their opener at the global event.

The national heroes soldiered on and worked history in bold letters hence their official sponsor, LycaMobile treating them to heroic comeback.

A Uganda Police lead car navigating traffic for the trophy parade from Entebbe International Airport to a grand entry at their home in Lugogo was a benefitting gesture yesterday evening.

“The bus-top ride from the airport through town is a small gesture of appreciation of their efforts at the biggest T20 tournament in the world,” Vikram Lal, LycaMobile Uganda Marketing Director told media.

Being their first-ever appearance at a senior’s World Cup, and going on to pick a memorable win against Papua New Guinea, indeed they deserved the heroes welcome.

Uganda’s four matches in West Indies had some Cricket Cranes’ players take it personal hence inking their names in the books of history.

Historical captain Brian Masaba claimed the first wicket for Uganda against Afghanistan, and finished the game with two to his name.

Veteran Frank Nsubuga, at 43 years young had the best economy for the Pearl of Africa and his name entered the books of the best figures in four overs.

The other players that took the tournament personal were; Kenneth Waiswa, Cosmas Kyewuta, Juma Miaji, Alpesh Ramajani, and Fred Achelam.

Now eating big at the table of men in the short version of cricket, Cranes new task is maintaining the status.

Well, that’s a story for another day, as of now, it’s celebrating the historic appearance and making a statement at the 2024 T20 World Cup.
