Tanzania Thrashes Lesotho in Front of Packed Home Crowd, Malawi Holds Off Ghana

A roaring crowd at Dar Gymkhana Ground witnessed a dominant performance by Tanzania, who defeated Lesotho by a massive 122-run margin in ICC U19 Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifier.

Tanzania set a formidable total of 183/7, with key contributions from Mohamed Omary Kitunda (Player of the Match, 46 off 41), Amal Rajeevan (35 off 28), and Akhil Anil (28 off 14). Despite Waseem Yaqoob’s 4-38, Lesotho struggled to chase the target, managing only 61/9 in 14.5 overs.

Laksh Snehal’s impressive 3-9 and Sanjaykumar Thakor’s 2-15 sealed the win for the hosts. Jayant Vijaykumar of Lesotho could not bat as he was declared retired out after suffering an injury while fielding.

Malawi Holds Off Ghana in Tight Contest

In a closely contested match, Malawi posted a modest total of 113/5 in 20 overs. Gershom Ntambalika (34 off 27) and Donnex Kansonkho (32 off 36) provided the backbone for Malawi’s innings.

Ghana’s Captain, Obed Harvey (19 off 17), and Frank Baaleri (11 off 17) showed resistance but were bowled out for 88 in 19 overs. Moazzam Baig (Captain and Player of the Match) led Malawi with the ball, taking 3-8, while Daniel Jakiel contributed with 2-18, helping Malawi secure a 25-run win, marking their second victory of the tournament.

Cameroon Triumphs Over Mali in Low-Scoring Thriller

Cameroon clinched a 6-wicket victory over Mali in a low-scoring thriller. Mali was bowled out for just 57 runs, with Lamissa Sanogo (15 off 21) and Sanze Kamate (12 off 14) being the top contributors.

Idrissa Tchakou (Player of the Match, 3-5) and Julien Abega (2-10) led the charge with the ball for Cameroon. Mali’s Check Keita showed some fight, but Cameroon chased down the target in 8.5 overs, with Bruno Nseke Toube (20 off 15) leading the way.
