Uganda’s U17 Women’s National Team, affectionately known as the Teen Cranes, put on a masterclass performance to confirm their spot in the next round of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers.
With an astounding aggregate score of 18-0 against Namibia, the team is sending a strong message to their next opponents and the rest of Africa.
A Night of Goals and Glory

On Sunday, January 20, Uganda sealed the deal with an 8-1 victory in the second leg, showcasing their depth and dominance.
Despite team captain Agnes Nabukenya being rested, Joan Kizza Namulindwa stepped up in style, delivering a hat-trick and earning her place as the evening’s standout performer.
The first half set the tone, with an own goal by Namibia’s Renalda Angel Tamara, followed by Namulindwa’s opener and Isabella Blick’s strike, giving Uganda a comfortable 3-0 lead.
Floodgates truly opened in the second half, with Namulindwa completing her hat-trick in quick succession, followed by goals from Rinah Ariho, Nabirye, and Nakalema.
Namibia managed a consolation goal through Shiwovanhu Haukongo, but it did little to dampen Uganda’s celebrations.
Next Challenge: Kenya
This emphatic win sets up a tantalizing clash against Kenya in the next round of qualifiers.
With only four slots available for African teams (excluding hosts Morocco) at the 2025 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, the pressure is on for Uganda to maintain their stellar form and secure their place in the tournament.
