Uganda’s road to the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2026 is underway, with the Teen Cranes drawn against Zimbabwe in the first round of African qualifiers.
The draw, held on Saturday in Rabat, Morocco, sets up a two-legged April showdown between the two sides.
Uganda will start on the road, travelling to Zimbabwe for the first leg scheduled between April 10 and 12.
The return leg will be played in Kampala a week later, between April 17 and 19, where the Teen Cranes will look to use home support to their advantage.
Progression will not come easy. The aggregate winner will move on to the second round to face either Namibia or regional rivals Kenya, who meet in the other first round tie.
Only four teams will eventually emerge from the qualifiers to join hosts Morocco at the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, making every step of the journey crucial for the Teen Cranes as they chase a place on the global stage.
