Ten-man BUL FC beat Arua Hill 2-1 at Barifa Playground on Sunday to move within touching distance of the Uganda Premier League summit.
BUL have nine points, the same as leaders Kitara who have a better goal difference.
The Jinja-based side took the lead in the 28th minute through striker Alex Kitata, who headed in a cross from Joel Madondo.
Arua Hill responded shortly after when John Rogers headed in from captain Gadafi Wahab‘s corner to level the scores at 1-1.
In the second half, Arua Hill tried to pile pressure on the visitors and in the 65th minute defender Benon Tahomera was sent off after second bookable offense.
But Arua Hill did not capitalize on this as BUL doubled their lead in the 73rd minute when Lawrence Tezikya scored following a Nicholas Mwere throw in.
BUL remained solid in defense to secure all three points.
The league returns on Tuesday with Vipers facing Mbarara City away at Kakyeka Stadium while KCCA host Maroons at Lugogo.
