The LFA Award has shown me that what I am doing is appreciated; Mbalangu

NEC FC coach Hussein Mbalangu has shown gratitude after being named the best male football coach in Uganda by Location Football Appreciations.

Speaking to our reporter, Mbalangu said, “I am lucky to be one of the winners, it has shown me that what I am doing is seen and appreciated, LFA has shown a good character to appreciate everyone who works see Ugandan football growing.”

Mbalangu, who has been in charge of NEC FC for the past two seasons, has managed to lift the team that was given to him after being promoted from the Big League to the Startimes Uganda Premier league

In the period he has managed the team to sixth and second finish in the Uganda top flight.

Last season, NEC FC’s second place finish gave them the opportunity to play in the CAF Confederations cup.

Speaking on the occasion, Mbalangu said, “We already know that we are going to play in the tournament, the goal is to play in it and do well.”

About the LFA Awards

The LFA awards, held on August 1, recognized various individuals and groups who contribute to Ugandan football. Winners included male and female coaches, players, schools, teams, and journalists. This initiative marks the first time that Location Football Appreciations has publicly recognized the efforts of those serving the sport in various categories.
