Three aspirants have so far picked nomination forms in the ongoing Pool Association of Uganda elections, setting the pace as the process gathers momentum ahead of the April 20 deadline.

The trio Fauzah Namuganza, Amina Faith Nganda, and Rogers Ssemanda have stepped forward for different positions, each bringing a clear focus to the race.

Namuganza, widely known as Lisa, is contesting for the newly created Executive Committee slot representing clubs.

A former Women’s Affairs Secretary, she returns with a message of unity seeking to strengthen the link between players, clubs, and leadership.

Drawing from her experience as co-founder of Bob Male PC, she believes both players and club owners deserve a stronger voice.

Nganda, the Pool Cranes captain, is targeting the Women Affairs position currently held by Debborah Ibenu.

Having previously served in the role, she is focused on growing the women’s game, with a strong push for equal prize money to attract and retain more players.

Ssemanda has entered the race for General Secretary, where he is expected to challenge incumbent Paul Wasike.Ā

A member of the technical committee, he is prioritising stronger partnerships to help grow the sport.

Returning Officer Musa Mivule Ssemakula says the process has been smooth so far, though some positions are yet to attract candidates. The Shs1 million nomination fee remains a hurdle for some aspirants.
