Namibia A won by 8 wickets

Steve Tikolo’s return as head coach of the Cricket Cranes got off to a rough start as Uganda lost to Namibia A by eight wickets at the High Performance Oval on Namibia tour on Wednesday March 18, 2026 in Windhoek

Sent in to bat, Uganda managed 131 for 9 in 20 overs. Opener Ssesazi Simon led with 33 off 26 balls, while Robinson Obuya added 28 before falling lbw to Jan Balt.

Debutant Anas Baig made a lively 16 off 11 balls, but regular wickets and a lack of partnerships stifled Uganda’s innings.

Dylan Leicher and Nicol Loftie-Eaton each took two wickets, with support from Jan Balt and Waldo Smith.

Namibia A chased down the total comfortably, reaching 135 for 2 in 13.2 overs. Loftie-Eaton starred with an unbeaten 72 off 36 balls, supported by Dylan Leicher’s 48*.

Uganda’s bowlers struggled to contain the Eagles, with Cosmas Kyewuta conceding 32 runs in three overs without success.

Tikolo now looks ahead to tomorrow’s T20 trial match against the same side.

Juma Miyaji bowling.

While debutants like Baig showed promise, Uganda will need sharper batting and tighter bowling if they are to challenge Namibia A in the next encounter.
