The Tooro Pool Players Association (TOPPA) celebrated a remarkable year at their annual awards ceremony, held over the weekend at the Grafton Arms Tavern.
This event was attended by all TOPPA clubs representative members, club managers, club captains, club directors, League sponsors and political leaders.
First on the agenda was the Annual General Meeting where TOPPA members aired out their different views about the body. This was followed by the TOPPA constitution review where a number of changes were made to address the new changes in the game of Pool.
Different awards were given out and Grafton Arms was crowned the league champions for the 2023/2024 season with a trophy, medals and a cash prize of 2,500,000 Ugx.
Demo White Angels, the first runners up received 1,300,000 Ugx while 2nd runners up Fins Fire received 700,000 Ugx. Colleagues Beach who finished in 4th position were awarded 500,000 Ugx.
Still on the receiving end, Legends, Mama Yoka, Atomic, New Swangs, and Star Lounge all received 300,000 despite the contentious fines of 100k.
Following a successful third league edition sponsored by Fins Medical University, TOPPA will hold their general elections in a month’s time.
