The Tooro Pool Players Association (TOPPA) has announced that it will be opening the 2023 season with a Grand Open Pool Championship on September 23rd.
The championship is expected to attract 64 participants from across the region.
The championship will also serve as a curtain raiser for the TOPPA Pool League, which has been running for four consecutive seasons.
The league is sponsored by Fins Medical University (FMU) and is titled the FMU Toppa Pool League.
In the last season of the league, Demo White Angels from Fort Portal emerged winners. The other teams that participated in the league last season were:
- New Ever Clean Pool Club (Kasese)
- Star Lounge Pool Club (Kyenjojo)
- Legends Pool Club (Fort Portal)
- Sky View Inn Pool Club (Fort Portal)
- Aman Pool Club (Bundibugyo)
- New Swangs Pool Club (Fort Portal)
- New Choice Pool Club (Fort Portal)
- Fins Fire Pool Club (Fort Portal)
- Racca Resort Pool Club
According to TOPPA Publicity Secretary Henry Kyomuhendo, three teams from last season will not be returning: New Ever Clean from Kasese, Sky View Inn, and Racca Resort.
They will be replaced by Atomic Lounge, Pyramid Pool Club from Kyenjojo, and Grafton from Fort Portal.
TOPPA is one of the Associations that are going to be making The Federation of Pool Associations.
