Uganda’s best table tennis players are set to fight for national team places as the Uganda Table Tennis Association lines up trials ahead of the ITTF-Africa East Regional Championships in Port Sudan.
The trials will bring together top-ranked players from the February 2026 standings, all chasing a chance to represent the country on the regional stage.
Action will take place at the National Training Center, Kololo S.S.S, across two weekends April 11–12 and April 18–19 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
To keep the competition fair and demanding, matches will be played in a round-robin format, best of five games. This setup gives each player multiple matches, making consistency key.
In the men’s category, Joseph Sebatindira, Nsereko Sharif, and Joshua Magaya lead a strong field that also includes Phillip Napokooli, Jonathan Senyonga, and Imran Luwooza.
The inclusion of all players tied at rank 15 widens the contest, raising the level of competition.
The women’s side is just as competitive. Nakawala Jemimah and Nasirumbi Prossy Patra headline the list, with Nakhumitsa Rita, Anyango Patience, and Nangonzi Parvin Judith among those expected to challenge.

Younger players like Brenda Namukose and Nekesa Ivy will also be keen to make their mark.
Beyond Port Sudan, the trials carry added importance. Those selected could go on to represent Uganda at the African Senior Championships later this year.
