Uganda Premier League and Uganda Cup champions Vipers Sports Club have completed the signing of Brazilian striker Giancarlo Lopez Rodriguez.
The 33-year-old has signed a two-year employment contract and will be at Kitende at least until 2025.
Their maiden signing in the ongoing transfer window is also the first-ever Brazilian player at Vipers.
Rodriguez got off his career in Brazil at Ferroviario in the 2012-13, joined EC Vitoria and later Treza FC in 2014.
The striker then joined Sao Caetano, Santo Andre, Macae, Rio Branco-AC, Ferroviario (second short stint in 2015), Sousa in 2016 before departing for Guarani-CE later that year.
A year later, Rodriguez joined Villa Nova, which he left in December that year for America-RJ, in Brazil.
He then, for the first time in 2019, joined Petaling Jaya City FC in Malaysia, which was a short-lived stint.
He then moved to Indonesian side PSM Makassar in January 2020, before he departed later that year in December, for Bangladesh side Sheikh Russel.
Rodriguez’s most recent team was Brazilian outfit UniĆ£o Cacoalense-Ro.
Meanwhile, Vipers is already stacked with quality upfront with stars such as Cromwell Rwothomio, Desire Tety, Yunus Sentamu, Abubakar Lawal, Karim Ndugwa among others.
