Tumuhimbise continues to impress as Mutungo FC returns to winning ways

Young Midfielder Innocent Tumuhimbise continues to carry Mutungo FC in the Kampala Regional League as he netted his third in five games for the third division outfit, as they returned to winning ways after two successive draws by beating Lungujja Galaxy 2-1.

He scored the game’s opener in the 19th minute and continued to put up eye-catching displays throughout the game played at IUIU Kabojja Campus on Sunday, November 23, and he was named Man of the Match for the second time this season.

It was the first time for him to score in consecutive matches this season, having scored in a 1-1 draw against Nsambya in the last game at Luzira Prisons.

In the middle of the second half, flying wing-back John Patrick Mukuza, nicknamed Bango, doubled the lead in the 73rd minute, and later Shadrak Luliika pulled a goal back for Lungujja Galaxy, who lost 2-1.

With their first win in three games, Mutungo FC rose to the top of the table with 8 points and a 6-goal difference, standing ahead of Edgars FC, who have the same points but with a 5-goal difference.

In other games, Edgars FC overpowered Kisugu United by 3-0 on Saturday, Nsambya earned their first win, beating Black Stars 1-0 with Tony Odur pulling out a second consecutive man of the match award.

Again on Saturday, Kireka United held the then-time leader Proline FC 1-1, Ntinda United drew 2-2 with Lukuli Hearts, and Police Young defeated Born Talent 2-0.
