2025/26 Kampala Regional League

  • Mutungo FC 1-0 Kireka United

Young attacking midfielder Innocent Tumuhimbise scored with an early freekick to give Mutungo FC a second successive win in the Kampala Regional League.

In the game played at Luzira Prisons ground on Saturday, November 8, Mutungo FC won a free kick in the third minute following Eric Muzungu’s foul on Patrick Mukuza.

Tumuhimbise struck the free kick directly to the far top corner, catching Kireka United goalkeeper Cyrus Azibu Mbuya, who stayed behind the wall.

In the first half, that was the only major scoring opportunity on either side, with Mutungo FC goalkeeper Stewart Matovu being less involved in the game.

In the second half, Mutungo FC had around three half-chances, with Talib Yokole, Adule Deogratius, and Kevin Bismarck failing to convert.

Meanwhile, Kireka United had the biggest chance, but Isaac Ntambi failed to shoot after beating Mutungo FC’s backline from a low cross sent in by Deckmoa Kabanda.

Now, Mutungo FC, with two wins in two games, having defeated Water FC 4-0 and Kireka United 1-0, will face Born Talent in their third game of the season at Kyambogo College on Thursday, November 13.

For Kireka United, with a win and a loss, they turn their focus to their next game against Black Stars FC at King’s Park Bweyogerere on November 13.
