Twinbrooks International School is the place to be on Sunday March 29, as the Futsal Primary Schools League officially kicks off.

This isn’t just a one-day tournament; it’s the start of a massive, three-term project aimed at bringing professional futsal standards to the primary school level.

The Matchday 1 Lineup

The action starts at 11:00 AM sharp. Five schools are in the mix for the opening round:

  • Twinbrooks International School (Hosts)
  • Twawil Primary School
  • Rays of Grace Schools
  • Palmville Primary School
  • Oakland Primary & Foundation School

The format is a round-robin, meaning every team plays four matches on the day.

With 10 games scheduled across two courts, the pace will be fast, and the atmosphere will be intense.

A Long-Term Vision

What’s interesting about this league is the age-specific breakdown. Instead of everyone playing at once, the league is spread across the school year to give each age group their own stage:

  • Term 1: It’s all about the P7s (Age 13). After today, they’ll return for Match Day 2 on April 4th and Match Day 3 on April 11th.
  • Term 2: The focus shifts to P6 (Ages 11–12).
  • Term 3: The younger P5s (Age 10) take over the courts.

Pro-Style Format

The matches are designed to mirror international futsal. Each game lasts 25 minutes, two 12-minute halves with a quick break.

This shorter, high-intensity format forces players to focus on ball control and quick thinking.

Points are awarded the standard way: 3 for a win and 1 for a draw. If things are tight at the end of the term, goal difference and goals scored will be the tiebreakers.

Why This Matters

Beyond the trophies, the goal is to build a real “pipeline” for talent. By giving these kids a structured, professional environment now, the league is laying the groundwork for the next generation of futsal stars.

Tomorrow at Twinbrooks, it’s about more than just a scoreboard, it’s about the future of the game.
