U15 CAF Schools Football Championship CECAFA Region returns to Kampala

Uganda hosts a back-to-back U15 CAF Schools Football championship, CECAFA regional qualifiers at St Mary’s Kitende and Kadiba Stadium for boys and girls, with fans accessing the games for free.

The Championship, which was held at St Mary’s Kitende last year, will kick off tomorrow, Saturday, December 6, ahead of 3 days of action, with 8 teams from eight countries of East and Central Africa taking part.

The boys’ teams competition will take place in Kitende, while the girls’ championship will be held at FUFA Stadium Kadiba before its final switch to Kitende on December 9, the same day scheduled for the Boys’ final at the same venue.

The Championship, which got benchmarked with referees and media Capacity building programs, will display a winning prize money of $100,000 for the gold winner, $75,000 for the silver winner, and 50,000 for the bronze winner of both championships.

In the girls’ Championship, Uganda is placed in Group A with Kenya, Burundi, and Rwanda, while Group B features Tanzania, Ethiopia, South Sudan, and Djibouti. 

In the boys’ category, Uganda is in Group A with Burundi, Djibouti, Kenya, and South Sudan, as Group B comprises Tanzania, Somalia, Ethiopia, Rwanda, and Sudan.
