Uganda U20 Boys National Volleyball team, Nile Warriors powered into the African U21 Men’s Volleyball Championship quarterfinals with a commanding 3–0 sweep of Zimbabwe at the Hassan Mustafa Sports Arena on Tuesday evening.

Uganda needed a strong finish to secure a place among the continent’s elite and delivered with style, taking the sets 25–19, 25–23, 25–21. Sharp serves, disciplined blocks and relentless attacks left Zimbabwe scrambling throughout.

The win capped a turbulent group stage. After conceding a walkover to DR Congo in their opener, the Warriors stunned Algeria, fell to defending champions Egypt, then sealed second place in Group A with Tuesday’s emphatic victory. They finished with four points, just one behind Egypt.

Next is a quarterfinals with unbeaten Morocco, the Group B third placed side.

A win would send Uganda to the semifinal and keep the 2025 FIVB U21 World Cup in Qatar spot in sight, with the tournament’s top three earning tickets to the global stage.
