UBF stages TikToker interruption on a night where Kibira kept perfect stand

The Uganda Boxing Federation (UBF) staged a captivating event on September 14, 2024 as part of their efforts to maintain the momentum of the Ugandan Boxing Champions League. The highlight of the night was a unique twist: a TikTok star was brought into the ring during the first round of the main event bout.

The main event featured a clash between Owen Kibira ‘Matrix’ and Ashraf Mutaasa at Club Obligato. Despite a brief interruption in the first round, Kibira dominated the fight, ultimately securing a technical knockout victory in the fourth round.

In addition to the main event, the night featured a total of 17 bouts across various weight categories. Some of the notable wins included:

  • Elite’s Featherweight (57Kg): Kassim Murungi (EastCoast BC) defeated James Japyem (UPDF BC) by unanimous decision.
  • Elite (54Kg): Belyegesa Benon triumphed over Samuel Ochen in a thrilling match.
  • Elite (54Kg): Joel Mudenya (EastCoast BC) edged out Shafik Sentamu Shafik (Lukanga) by a split decision.
  • Elite (67Kg): Batte Nuhu (Cobap) narrowly defeated Alex Kanaabi (KCCA BC).
  • Featherweight (57Kg): Aaron Ouma (Sparks BC) outclassed Wasswa Jonah (Namungoona BC).
  • Women’s Elite Bantamweight (54Kg): Katushabe Angel (Univ.Of Pain BC) won by RSC in round 3 against Muduwa Brenda (Cobap BC).

The Uganda Boxing Champions League will continue on September 28th at Club Obligato, featuring fights in various categories, including Elite, Women, and Youth.
