Kutchi Tigers CC won by 108 runs
Defending champions Kutchi Tigers Cricket Club turned a modest total into a statement victory, thrashing Aboojo Cricket Club by 108 runs in the Cricket Uganda Men’s Cricket National League – Gold group at Lugogo on Sunday.
In a match of revised overs to 45 Overs, Kutchi’s innings never fully settled, but they did enough to reach 149 in 29.1 overs.
Nitin Jeshani gave them early momentum with a brisk 30, while Mayur Hirani steadied things with 39. Hasin Ashani added 34, but regular wickets kept Aboojo in the game.
Baguma Joseph led Aboojo’s bowling with four wickets, as Dan Keith Amani and Stephen Aliganyira picked up three each to keep the target within reach.
But the chase quickly fell apart. Aboojo lost wickets almost immediately and never recovered. Within three overs, they were already in deep trouble, and the pressure only grew. Baguma briefly lifted hopes with a quick 21, but once he fell, the resistance ended.
Paresh Patel led the collapse with a sharp spell of 5 for 13, while Ghanshyam Ashani took three wickets to seal the rout. Aboojo were bowled out for just 41 in eight overs.
What looked like a competitive game on paper turned into a one-sided contest, as Kutchi Tigers showed their class with the ball.
Elsewhere, Avengers Cricket Club beat St John’s SS Mukono by 113 runs at the Florida Oval in the Silver group, while Tornado Cricket Club won by five wickets in the Bronze group at the Jinja SSS Oval.
