Uganda Christian University (UCU) assistant coach Collins Ahumuza expressed disappointment with the side’s performance in their 1-1 draw with Kampala International University (KIU) in the University Football League on Wednesday in Lukuli.
“Today’s game was a tough one. We managed to lead in the first half but couldn’t contain it.”
“Being an away game we didn’t lose the game but we shift focus on the next one,” stated Ahumuza.

UCU took the lead in the 40th minute through forward Peter Kyomuhendo, but KIU leveled matters through Simon Kalyango‘s penalty in the 73rd minute.
The result left UCU top of the table with 10 points, while KIU are second with four points. Busitema and Kumi are third and fourth with four and one point respectively, but both teams have a game in hand.

KIU coach Geoffrey Akabwai believes his team can bounce back in their last two games.
“We obtained a point from this game but our main goal was to win. It’s not bad. The point is going to help us to push for a win in the next games.”
“We are going to sit, prepare and train well to improve.”

“Prior to this game the university was doing exams but now they are done and we are going to prepare for the two games to get maximum points,” Akabwai noted.
