UCU flagged off to represent Uganda, Africa at 2025 FISU World Cup 3×3 basketball

Uganda Christian University (UCU) has once again lifted the national flag high after being officially flagged off by Vice Chancellor Prof. Aaron Mushengyezi to represent both Uganda and Africa at the 2025 FISU University World Cup 3×3 Basketball in Brazil.

Team to represent Uganda.

The global university championship will take place from November 14–16, 2025, in Brasília, Brazil, bringing together the best university teams from across the world.

During the flag-off ceremony at the Mukono campus, Prof. Mushengyezi praised the teams for their discipline, hard work, and consistency that have earned UCU international recognition. 

He encouraged the players to compete with pride and represent Uganda and Africa with excellence.

The women’s team that will carry the Ugandan and African flag includes:

1. Tracy Namugosa

2. Sylvia Nantongo

3. Shillah Aber Lamunu

4. Martina Alexis Anyango

The men’s team comprises:

1. Joel Paul Kayiira

2. Dushime Chris Flore

3. Ariho Amara

4. Daniel Muganzi

Both teams coached by Nicholas Natuhereza booked their tickets to Brazil after dominating the continental qualifiers, an example of UCU’s growing influence in African university basketball.
