It is a clash of the titans in the women’s National Basketball Championship as defending champions UCU Lady Canons meet the stubborn JKL Dolphins in the best-of-5 semifinal series.
Mukono-based side, the Lady Canons swept KCCA Leopards 2-0 in the series behind a Namugosa masterclass in game 2.

Namugosa scored a game-high 29 points to lead the Lady Canons to a 93-66 win and set up last year’s final which they won in game 7.

JKL Dolphins were too much for the A1 challenge, collecting a 2-0 clean rout in preparation for the semis, and will need all their stars firing in what many believe should have been the final.

Elsewhere, there will be a new side in the top-tier setup, JT Jaguars taking on seasoned KIU Rangers.
The two will tussle it out in the semifinals, with the best of 5 series starting on Sunday to see who will advance to the final.
