UDSF hold Annual General assembly, surprise NCS, UOC

Uganda Dance Sport Federation hosted a surprise assembly for the National Council of Sports and the Uganda Olympic Committee on Saturday at the Pope VI Memorial Hotel in Kampala.

Anne Nankya, Senior Sports Officer who represented NCS as the Assembly Speaker who attended the election, said, “Uganda Dance Sport Federation has set an example for many other sports organisations, Everything is done in its own right, and we are sure they are one of the most efficient organisations.”

Uganda Olympic Committee, President Dr. Donald Rukare said, “This assembly is a clear sign that Dance Sport is one of the fastest-growing sports in Uganda.”

The assembly concluded with elections, and Innocent Amutuheire was elected as the party president for the next four years, replacing his former boss, Sharifah Sanyu Mubigere.

After Amutuheire became President, Abaasi Bogere succeeded Mubigere as the first vice president, and Denis Owach was elected the second vice president.

In other vital positions, founder Member, Barnabas Ssebuyungo, was reinstated as General secretary, while Elsie Namagembe was elected as the treasurer.

In the electro Assembly  held at Pope Paul, Mable Birunji won the only seat contested and defeated Joseph Asiimwe, for the  Technical Leader post.

The same assembly passed the term limit, and members decided that the leader should serve for two terms of four years each, with immediate effect, which started yesterday.

  • President: Innocent Amutuheire
  • 1st Vice President: Speak Up
  • 2nd Vice President: Denis Owach
  • General Secretary: Barnabas Ssebuyungo
  • Treasurer: Elsie Namagembe
  • Legal: Godfrey Mayanja
  • Technical: Mable Brown
  • Gender Equality: Eunice Birunji
  • Member: Allan Nkuruziza
