UFL: Byaruhanga header secures Makerere win over IUIU

Makerere University claimed a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) in Tuesday’s University Football League duel.

Isaac Byaruhanga’s 57th-minute header from Ian Kajubi’s corner proved decisive. 

Earlier, Byaruhanga had seen a close-range effort cleared off the line, while IUIU’s Calvin Otim missed a golden chance in the first half.

Goalkeeper Timothy Kaziba was instrumental for Makerere, making key saves to keep the clean sheet. 

Despite IUIU’s persistent attacks, including Emmanuel Ekwong’s clever moves, the home side’s defense held firm.

The win strengthens Makerere’s title ambitions, while IUIU will aim to bounce back in their next match.
