  • Mountain of the Moon 1-3 Kampala University

Kampala University kicked off the week in style with a convincing 3–1 win over Mountains of the Moon University in the University Football League on Monday.

The visitors made their intentions clear early on, with Raymond Kiweewa heading in Kevin Azabo’s precise cross in the fourth minute before many fans had even settled in.

Gilbert Wanuume nearly doubled the lead moments later, but his effort was cleared off the line.

Despite Kampala University’s dominance, the hosts held on to trail by just a goal at halftime.

Five minutes into the second half, Julius Kaahwa struck the woodwork as the pressure mounted.

The breakthrough came in the 70th minute when Wanuume finished off a fine cross from Joseph Kimera to make it 2–0.

Kimera then put the result beyond doubt in the 86th minute with a stunning free kick that left the goalkeeper helpless.

Mountains of the Moon managed a late consolation through David Ahebwa’s curling free kick, but it wasn’t enough to change the outcome.

The victory keeps Kampala University’s momentum alive in the University Football League, while Mountains of the Moon will be eager to bounce back in their next fixture.
