- Kampala University 4-0 University of Kisubi
Kampala University produced a stunning performance at the Yes Center Arena in Nsambya, sweeping aside the University of Kisubi 4-0 in the University Football League on Wednesday.
The hosts flew out of the blocks, taking the lead in the seventh minute when Gilbert Wannume finished off Abbey Mulamba’s precise cross.
Six minutes later, Kevin Azabo doubled the advantage, calmly slotting home after another fine delivery from Wannume.
Kisubi tightened up defensively but still struggled to contain Kampala University’s relentless attacks, trailing 2-0 at the break.
Five minutes into the second half, Robert Ssenfuma was brought down in the box, but Vincent Mulondo wasted the chance to extend the lead, dragging his penalty wide.
Kampala University didn’t let the miss affect their rhythm. On the hour mark, Benjamin Nsubuga tapped in from Mulamba’s corner to make it 3-0, before Brian Miyingo sealed the rout late on with a composed finish.
The victory sends Kampala University to the top of their group and underlines their title ambitions.
For Kisubi, it was a tough night that will demand a quick response before their next fixture.
